Critical points and transitions in embryo development
Our PhD student, Laura, has successfully defended her PhD thesis titled “Uncoupling adhesion- and density-driven rigidity transitions triggers epithelial organisation in embryonic tissues” at Heidelberg University. She studied the role of control parameters regulating tissue material phase transitions in biological functions, beyond tissue deformability, and whether these parameters can act redundantly and interdependently. You can read more about her work in the recently published paper. She will continue her research in the lab as a bridging postdoctoral fellow. Congratulations, Laura!
