Applications open for EMBL CPP fellowships for scientific visitors

Are you a scientist looking for an interesting project? Do you also want to expand your network and be a part of EMBL? Then keep reading! One of EMBL’s key missions is to train the next generation of young scientists and the EMBL Scientific Visitor Programme aids this endeavor by giving excellent young researchers access to state-of-the-art technology platforms and research laboratories at all six EMBL sites. Applications are now open, so here is a quick overview for you to check out and start thinking about your research and how EMBL can benefit it. And of course, to not miss the deadline!

What are the CPP fellowships?

Thanks to the generous support of the EMBL Corporate Partnership Programme (CPP), the Scientific Visitor Programme is able to offer a certain number of CPP Fellowships to support young scientific visitors coming to research laboratories at all EMBL sites. Several fellowships are awarded each year to young researchers.

Who can apply?

PhD students and Postdoctoral Fellows are eligible to apply. Everyone, regardless of age, gender, scientific background or country of origin, is welcome.

What do the CPP fellowships cover?

The funding helps cover the costs for getting to the EMBL site of your preference as well as accommodation, up to a limit of 2,000€ per applicant.

Can the CPP Fellowships support a visit to any EMBL site?

Yes, you can visit any of the EMBL sites. Check out the different labs across EMBL and their main focus to find one that makes sense for your own research.

How long should the scientific visit be?

Depending on your project, you will be at EMBL between one and six months.

How can you apply?

Applications must be developed based on mutual agreement with an EMBL group or team leader, who acts as a local host. Once you have discussed your project with a group or team leader and have been accepted by them, you can apply for a fellowship! The deadlines are at the end of each quarter: 31 March, 30 June, 30 September, 31 December. A selection committee chooses those candidates with the most excellent scientific project and the highest financial needs.

This is a great opportunity to join EMBL and advance your research! For more information, please see the Scientific Visitor Programme website.
