IMPORTANT:

Prepayment account will be active until 10 August 2022, after which point EMBL authors will no longer be able to use the account to pay their APCs.

The discount scheme with Oxford University Press (OUP) for Open Access (OA) publishing offers a 5% reduction in the Article Processing Charges (APCs) of fully OA and hybrid journals published by OUP.

To make use of the reduction select European Molecular Biology Laboratory from the dropdown menu Select Institution in the window Open Access Prepayment Account.

The full procedure is outlined below: 

a.  Select a CC-BY license.

b.  Accept the Copyright Agreement.

c.  Review the publishing charges for your article and proceed to checkout.

d.  In the page Open Access Prepayment Account select European Molecular Biology Laboratory from the dropdown menu Select Institution.

e.  Review the publishing charges of your article; only Open Access related costs will be covered by the scheme.

f.  Fill in the relevant information as required in the pages Correspondence address and Grants.

g.  Complete referral of costs.

Note that the discount scheme can only be used to provide the reduction and cannot be used to cover the cost of the APCs. As soon as we receive a notification for your request (via OUP) we will contact you to ask for your publication/ group budget.
