1. When does a Corporate Partnership Programme (CPP) membership start within the year?

The CPP membership starts on the preferred month of the partner company and runs exactly 12 calendar months thereafter.

2. How long is the CPP membership?

The initial CPP membership runs three years, afterwards it renews with a rolling annual contract with 12 months advanced notice termination time.

3. What are the different types of memberships available?

There are three different categories of CPP memberships available: Associate level, Corporate level and Strategic level. The membership categories have different privileges and interactions.

4. What events are organised for members of the CPP?

All CPP member companies are invited to: 

  • Each February, our CPP Annual Meeting transforms into the year’s most anticipated gathering for CPP members. They immerse themselves in groundbreaking scientific discoveries, experience cutting-edge research on the rotating event theme (from AI in molecular biology to microbial ecosystems), and connect with brilliant minds over an elegant evening dinner. It’s more than a meeting—it’s where innovation meets inspiration, collaborations are born, and the future of science comes alive.
  • EMBL’s Industry Day, a one day fair in the Autumn where CPP members can promote and demonstrate their products for EMBL staff and institutes in the Rhein Neckar Region. 
  • Customized networking events between EMBL and a CPP member.

Corporate and Strategic level member companies are additionally invited to: 

  • CPP-EICAT Training Consultation Panel every summer, where members get informed about the current and future EMBL course and conference program and discuss possible synergies and interactions in the program.
5. Can CPP member companies participate in EMBL/EMBO conferences, workshops and symposia?

Yes. Every CPP member receives an allocation of free conference tickets, depending on the CPP membership category.

    • Associate partner membership: 4 onsite (EMBL Heidelberg) and 4 virtual tickets per year. 
    • Corporate partner membership: 6 onsite (EMBL Heidelberg) and 6 virtual tickets per year.
    • Strategic partner membership: 8 onsite (EMBL Heidelberg) and 8 virtual tickets per year.
    6. Do “free” CPP tickets for conferences expire?

    Unused tickets may be used at any time within a 3-year CPP membership cycle. At the end of the three year cycle, unused CPP tickets will expire. 

    7. Can the CPP tickets also be used for courses within the EMBL course and conference programme?

    No, CPP tickets can be only used for conferences, symposia and workshops.

    8. How does the CPP member company get informed about new projects, groups and any updates at EMBL?

    CPP members will have regular meetings with the CPP lead and receive a bi-annual CPP newsletter and bespoke updates.

    9. Is sponsorship for conferences (e.g. having a company booth at a conference in the EMBL ATC) included in the CPP membership?

    Yes, it is included at a discounted rate for CPP members, depending on the membership category:

    • Associate partner membership: 20% discount on all sponsoring packages.
    • Corporate partner membership: 25% discount on all sponsoring packages.
    • Strategic partner membership: 30% discount on all sponsoring packages.

    CPP members also have the advantage of being able to reserve sponsorship packages before the general public.
