Heidelberg Hauptbahnhof (main train station) is located close to the city centre. It is well connected to the majority of European countries either by express or regional trains.
We have partnered with Deutsche Bahn (Germany’s national railway company) to offer an ‘Event Ticket’ for our 2025 events. This ticket is valid for train travels within Germany when participating in an EMBL Conference, EMBL Course, EMBO | EMBL Symposium, EMBO Workshop or EMBO Practical Course.
You need to provide proof of your event attendance when purchasing the ticket. The ‘Event Ticket’ will result in a lower ticket price if your travel distance to Heidelberg is more than 100 km.
Please be advised that when you are flying in to Frankfurt Airport, a regular train ticket to Heidelberg will be cheaper than the ‘Event Ticket’ due to the distance being less than 100 km.
For information on the regional public transport and how to get to EMBL, go to the Deutsche Bahn website or the Rhein-Neckar-Verkehr website (mostly in German).
