Course overview

This course includes a robust theoretical part on the fundamentals of cell sorting delivered by world-leading experts and practical sessions on using standard cuvette sorters. In addition, the course program will include principles, applications, and hands-on sessions on Image Cell Sorting (ICS), allowing attendees to get in touch with this exciting technology!

The course is intended for Ph.D. students and postdocs who are starting to use or already using cell sorting in their research projects. Applicants with previous active knowledge of basic principles of flow cytometry and regular use of flow cytometers in daily research will profit most from the course content.

What past participants say about the course

“I am amazed by how inspirational and educational this practical course was. People from all over the world joined and together we had a great week learning more about a topic all of us are passionate about!” – Alexandra Vujkovic, Institute of Tropical Medicine, Belgium

“Even though the samples I work with are very different from what was demonstrated in the practical, I left with many useful techniques not easily found in literature, if at all. The environment was very lively, and the trainers were very eager to answer our questions and feed our curiosity.” – G.Y. Grace Ho, Max Planck Institute for Marine Microbiology, Germany

“This course tought me not only the basics of cell sorting, but also a plethora of factors and caveats influencing the outcome of my experiments. I feel prepared and confident!” – Tomasz Kaszubowski, Universitätsklinikum Erlangen, Germany
