EMBO Practical Course
Applications for this event are not open yet. If you are interested in receiving more information, please register your interest.
This hands-on course delivers state-of-the-art training in the preparation and characterisation of extracellular vesicles (EVs) from biofluids and tissues. It covers the possibilities and limitations of the most widely used methodologies, enabling participants to select the approaches best suited to their research questions.
As EV research continues to grow and attract new researchers, there is an increasing need for specialised training in the methods used to study their formation, composition, and function. Understanding the strengths and limitations of different preparation and characterisation techniques is essential for generating reliable and meaningful results.
Participants will learn how to prepare and characterise EVs from biofluids and gain the knowledge needed to apply these methods in the study of (patho)physiological processes and a wide range of biomedical applications.
This course is designed for PhD students and Postdoctoral researchers who are entering or are already active in the field of EV research.
Through a mix of theoretical and practical sessions, participants will learn good-practice guidelines and methods for purification and identification of extracellular vesicles.
“This training was an amazing opportunity to deepen my knowledge in the EVs domain as well as expend my technical skills. Such a privilege to exchange with experts in the field!” – Lucie Rospape, Luxembourg Institute of Health, Luxembourg
“This course was very informative and covers all the major aspects of EV research. It addresses questions of what level of quality is required for good publications but also offers relevant approaches towards analysing data and critical thinking in the EV field. Whether you are taking your first steps in this field or more experienced, this course applies to you.” – Berglind Eva Benediktsdóttir, University of Iceland, Iceland
