EditCareer Accelerator for Research Infrastructure Scientists
Professional training to become a Research Infrastructure Scientist.
The aim of the the ARISE training programme is to train our fellows for careers in core facilities, service units, data services, and big infrastructures, in academia or industry.
All training is mapped to a competency framework developed for research infrastructure scientists.

Training is provided in the form of courses and secondments, both internal and external, distributed throughout their fellowship.
The courses are delivered by volunteer trainers from EMBL and external organisations.
External secondments take place with ARISE partner organisations in industry and academia.

EMBL ARISE Fellow Thomas Weber talks about his secondment at SciLifeLab in Sweden and how it helped him develop new skills in data science.
Edit
Yehudi Bloch, ARISE Fellow at EMBL Hamburg, talks about the snow flea antifreeze protein. This is part of a series of stories about EMBL scientists and quirky, charming proteins that make them smile.
