EMBL conferences go digital

Chances are you are within reach of your cell phone right now. As more people become smartphone users, it was a no-brainer to find a way to integrate these devices into EMBL conferences.

The EMBL Events conference app, which has been tested at three meetings to date, has been very well received by participants and speakers alike. Users describe it as “very practical to access all the information easily and quickly”, while those sensitive to environmental concerns appreciate the reduction in printed material.

Many participants arriving at registration don’t want printed abstracts anymore, and EMBL is among the first institutions to offer an app as an alternative. Even if you like having the printed abstract book to hand, the app still has a lot to offer, including: in-app social media to connect with and message other participants, bus schedules, important updates and notifications, note-taking tools, and an interactive exhibition plan.

If you are interested in upgrading your conference experience, registrations for spring and autumn conferences are open, and the EMBL Events app is ready when you are!
