Formerly known as European Learning Laboratory for the Life Sciences
Our inspiring educational experiences share the scientific discoveries of EMBL with young learners aged 10-19 years and teachers in Europe and beyond. We belong to EMBL’s Science Education and Public Engagement office.
Meet scientists. Use our resources better. Teach with more confidence.
Our demand-based workshops connect secondary school teachers directly with researchers and educators in focused, 1-hour sessions designed around what you actually need.
Whether you want to ask a working scientist your burning questions or get hands-on training with one of our teaching resources, there’s a session for you.
Two types of sessions, one shared goal
Meet a scientist — Spend 1 hour with a researcher working in the field. Ask the questions you can’t find in a textbook. Bring your students’ questions too. These sessions are informal, honest, and surprisingly fun.
Resource training — Get proper training on one of our teaching resources. Not a demo but a real working session where you leave knowing how to use it confidently in your classroom.
Sessions run in English (B1 proficiency required), online over Zoom, with 15–20 teachers per group. We keep them small so everyone gets to speak.
Register → we review → you get an invite to confirm your seat when a workshop becomes available → you get a confirmation email with everything you need.
We read every registration carefully. If your preferred session fills up, we’ll add you to the waitlist and let you know as soon as a new date opens. We’ll never leave you hanging.
