Science Education

Formerly known as European Learning Laboratory for the Life Sciences

Our inspiring educational experiences share the scientific discoveries of EMBL with young learners aged 10-19 years and teachers in Europe and beyond. We belong to EMBL’s Science Education and Public Engagement office.

Research Career Profiles in the Life Sciences

The Research Career Profiles of EMBL students and staff provide an insight into the diverse biographies and career paths in life sciences research.

The biography-style profiles feature students and staff from all over the world who represent EMBL as EMBL School Ambassadors by sharing their experience of working as a scientist with schools. The profiles are a great tool to show students the opportunities and careers available in the life sciences; they illustrate the different personal motivations of becoming a scientist and highlight the international and interdisciplinary nature of life sciences research.
