Forscher:Zeit

Curiosity and the spirit of discovery live within all of us! The educational workshop series “Forscher:Zeit” aims to promote these characteristics amongst children of diverse backgrounds between the ages of 7 and 12.

“Forscher:Zeit” runs at the Heidelberg community hub “Mehrgenerationenhaus Heidelberg” in collaboration with our local partner Habito e.V.

Small experiments and games introduce participants to basic processes and concepts of the life sciences in a playful way, covering topics such as microscopy and genomics. The workshops provide insights into the world of biological research and convey the joys of being a researcher and discoverer of life.

The first “Forscher:Zeit” workshops took place in 2019. In 2020 and 2022, the project was amongst the winners of the BASF competition “Gemeinsam Neues Schaffen – BASF-Projektwettbewerb”, which supports social projects in the Rhein-Neckar metropolitan area and has received funding to run the workshops in collaboration with Habito e.V.
