#Genomics2026

6-Week On-Demand Course

Genomes are the foundational blueprints of all living organisms, and rapid advances in genomics are transforming personalised medicine, biotechnology, and conservation. The course “Genomics for Educators and Enthusiasts” invites you to explore how the latest discoveries in DNA sequencing and bioinformatics can enrich science teaching and inspire students to see genetics as an interconnected, dynamic field. This spring, EMBL’s Science Education and Public Engagement (SEPE) team, in partnership with Merck, invites educators and enthusiasts to take part in this on-demand training course.

The “Genomics for Educators and Enthusiasts” course includes content from EMBL’s virtual LearningLAB 2024, “Navigating the Genomic Landscape: A Journey with Genome Sequencing“. It provides an overview of the field development, highlighting the latest approaches and techniques used to explore the field and offers practical strategies for effectively bringing this topic into the classroom.

Running from 20 April to 31 May 2026, this certification-ready course is delivered entirely online, allowing participants to engage with the material at their own convenience and pace. The course is taught in English.

Visit the course page for more details and access the course any day by 31 May 2026.
