Alumni Relations

Connecting, engaging and nurturing EMBL’s global community of current and former scientists, technicians, communicators and administrators

EMBL Alumni Fund

Collective giving, collective impact

What it is

The EMBL Alumni Fund gives alumni a way to collectively and visibly support EMBL training across all sites and available to all researchers worldwide.

In its first phase, the fund will support the EMBL Visitor Programme and EMBL-EBI training. This  will enable researchers from across Europe and beyond, at all career stages, to spend time at any EMBL site, gaining access to unique expertise, facilities, and networks.

Our initial target is €10,000 per year, growing to €20,000 per year as participation increases. Regular giving will help us build long-term stability and momentum.

Why it matters

A collective fund ensures that every donation, however small, has an impact. Together, we can provide opportunities which EMBL’s core budget could not otherwise cover.

Training and sharing knowledge are core to EMBL’s mission.

Alumni have enjoyed privileged access to EMBL’s world-class resources. This community is uniquely placed to help open those doors for others, by sharing experiences and by supporting access financially.

How you can help

The fund is flexible: give once or set up a recurring donation, every contribution counts. Donors will be acknowledged (with an option for anonymity), and broad participation will be a key measure of success.

Stories / Examples

Visitor fellowships and EMBL-EBI training are in high demand, and with alumni help, we can expand access further, creating new opportunities for scientists who will go on to inspire the next generation.

Join the alumni community in supporting EMBL today.

Thank you

Together, we’re turning our shared commitment to EMBL into real opportunities for researchers and discovery.
