Connecting, engaging and nurturing EMBL’s global community of current and former scientists, technicians, communicators and administrators
We are pleased to announce the results of the 2025 EMBL Alumni Association (EAA) Treasurer and Deputy Treasurer elections, in which 274 alumni cast their votes.
Britta Schläger (EMBL Heidelberg Research Assistant, 1989-1998) has been re-elected as EAA Treasurer. Britta has served as Deputy Treasurer since 2021 and will continue to contribute to the EMBL alumni community through her second term now as Treasurer.
Britta will succeed Annabel Goulding, who has made a significant contribution to the work of the EMBL Alumni Association board — as Treasurer from 2015 to 2019, and again from 2021 to 2025. We are grateful to Annabel for her work and dedication over these years.
Tina Uhrig (EMBL Heidelberg Finance Officer, 2001-2015) has been elected as the new Deputy Treasurer. Tina will be working alongside Britta and the EMBL Alumni Relations Office on the financial stewardship of EAA.
The election ran from Monday 2 June to Friday 13 June 2025, and all full EAA members were eligible to vote. The new terms will officially begin in January 2026.
Working closely with the EAA Board and the Alumni Relations team, the Treasurer and Deputy Treasurer play a vital role in maintaining the financial health and transparency of the EAA. Responsibilities include preparing and presenting financial reports at biannual board meetings, maintaining accurate accounting records, managing payments for alumni activities, and ensuring compliance with fund policies and tax regulations.
We thank all candidates for their willingness to contribute to the EMBL alumni community, and all EAA members who voted in the election for their participation.
