Connecting, engaging and nurturing EMBL’s global community of current and former scientists, technicians, communicators and administrators
It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Reuben Leberman. Reuben was a Group Leader and Senior Scientist in EMBL Grenoble from 1976 until 1998. May he rest in peace.
“We spent a long time together at EMBL Grenoble.
Reuben worked well to develop the lab and to contribute to what it is now, the Tu story and the Synthetases deuteration lab and he collaborated with scientists from diverse countries.
He liked to do some DIY in the lab to find solutions to some technical problem. I remember how happy he was when he first got a computer !
He was close to the members of his lab. Besides supporting their work, he cared about their family life, celebrating birthdays, holidays and good news. He and his wife Pat always gave gifts for Christmas.
He retired and left France, for New Zealand for a very happy life near his family and he was very proud of his children.”
Marie Therese Dauvergne, former EMBL Research Technician, 1976-2012
