Who can visit the World of Molecular Biology exhibition?

All members the public above the age of 14 years are welcome to book a guided tour via our website. Please note that school visits can be only be booked through our science education webpage.

How much do the exhibition tickets cost?

Outreach and community engagement are integral to EMBL’s mission. The guided tour is free and a pre-booking is mandatory to enable smooth running of our operations.

Do I have to pre-book to visit the World of Molecular Biology exhibition?

It is mandatory to book a ticket to be able to visit the World of Molecular Biology exhibition. Entry without a free valid ticket is not possible. For school visits, please follow the link.

What is included in the exhibition ticket?

The free ticket offers a two hour visit to The World of Molecular Biology exhibition, which includes entry to the exhibition, a guided tour and free exploration of the exhibits.

How do I cancel my exhibition tickets?

You can cancel the tickets following the link in your ticket confirmation email. Due to high demand for the guided tours, please cancel your reservations at least 48 hours prior to the visit so that these may be offered to other members of the public.

What is the language for the guide tours?

Guided tours of the exhibition are currently offered per default in German. We will soon start offering English tours once per month.

How long is the exhibition tour?

The guided tour is approximately 45 minutes long, followed by free exploration of the exhibits for another 45 minutes.

How do I get to the World of Molecular Biology exhibition for the visit?

The exhibition is located in the EMBL Imaging Centre on the EMBL Campus in Heidelberg (Meyerhofstrasse 1, 69117 Heidelberg, Germany).

Can I buy food and drinks at the World of Molecular Biology exhibition?

No catering and no vending machines are available at the exhibition. Consumption of food and beverages is not allowed within the exhibition.

What are the facilities and accessibility for the visit?

We encourage you to inform us prior to your visit for any special assistance required during the visit in order for us to best respond to your requests.

Where can I find the terms and conditions for the visit?

Booking of tickets is only possible upon the acceptance of the general terms and conditions.

I want to visit the World of Molecular Biology exhibition with a group. How do I make the booking?

We can welcome a maximum of 15 visitors to the exhibition per visit. For larger groups, we will have to make special arrangements and we would request you to get in touch with us at exhibition@embl.org . For school visits, please see our science education webpage.
