EMBO Practical Course

Advanced methods in bioimage analysis

Overview

Applications for this event are not open yet. If you are interested in receiving more information please register your interest.

Course overview

Bioimage analysis is a cornerstone of modern biological research, as advanced microscopy produces complex data requiring expert guidance to ensure accurate, quantitative results.

This course addresses this need by focusing on cutting-edge concepts and tools for quantitative image analysis, including OME-Zarr-based data management, AI and natural language processing, 3D segmentation, image registration, and research integrity in AI.

Addressing the rapidly increasing size of data, a session will also be dedicated to image data management and standardization. The course will also highlight the trend of establishing data science service units in leading research institutions, and the best practice in training relevant to service-oriented bioimage analysts.

Audience

Designed for early-career scientists and facility staff.

Learning outcomes

Through hands-on practical sessions, pre-recorded lectures, flashtalks, poster sessions, and collaborative networking, it aims to upgrade the competencies of bioimage analysts—both theoretically and practically—while strengthening professional networks.
