Bayer AG: a German multinational pharmaceutical and life sciences company and the leading company in the Crop Science business. Headquartered in, Bayer’s areas of business include human and veterinary pharmaceuticals; consumer healthcare products; agricultural chemicals, seeds and biotechnology products.

As a partner in this project, Bayer AG intends to cooperate with the EMBL towards training of the Fellows. Bayer AG can host up to two Fellows per year in the period 2020-2024 through secondments and introduce them to the ways of working, instrumentation and procedures at Bayer AG. Duration of secondments will be between 2 and 6 months and will be arranged in communication with the Fellow. Fellows who will do secondments at Bayer AG will come from the field related or complementary to the field of work of Bayer AG.

At Bayer AG Fellows will have a possibility to learn data science technologies like Text Mining, Data Mining, data analysis pipelines for protein evolutionary models, databases and GUls for scientific approaches. The Fellows will also have a chance to get acquainted with the operation of HPC and cloud computing, database and pipeline development in the Unix and the Windows world. Bayer AG will dedicate supervision capacity for each fellow on secondments. During secondments, Fellows can stay employed by EMBL.

Bayer AG in t ends also to host mini-secondments in a duration of up to two weeks, during which Fellows will shadow operations at Bayer AG.
