Rationale

EMBL and HCEMM, recognising the potential for uniting their complementary strengths in the field of molecular medicine, decided to intensify links and build further synergies through the creation of a strong inter-institutional collaboration.

The ultimate goal of the HCEMM-EMBL Partnership for Molecular Medicine is the pursuit of scientific excellence through collaborative research, providing a framework for existing and future scientific collaborations. The partnership will focus on cancer, cardiovascular and inflammatory diseases especially affecting older generations, thereby providing a bridge from fundamental to translational research.

HCEMM is the Hungarian Centre of Excellence for Molecular Medicine. Its registered office is in Szeged (Hungary). HCEMM was founded by the Biological Research Centre of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, the University of Szeged, and Semmelweis University.
