The EMBL Office for Scientific Information Management (OSIM) provides a hub of expertise on the management of scientific outputs and related services.

OSIM encompasses the Szilárd Library, EMBL Archive and Records, and EMBL Open Science policy support. It coordinates and expands on the current activities in these areas to provide guidance and services to broadly support EMBL information management needs across all sites.

The main goals of OSIM are:

  • To support staff in accessing the scientific information they need through the management of the Szilard Library collection.
  • To support Open Science best practices, aligned with the EMBL Open Science policy and accompanying guidelines, through the administration of EMBL-wide processes and services, advice and outreach activities, and monitoring these outputs for use in EMBL reporting.
  • Provide Archiving and Records management for EMBL as an organisation through the operation of the EMBL archive and administering records management processes.
