EMBL and BIOCEV renew their cooperation
A new Memorandum of Understanding extends an institutional collaboration that goes back to 2013.
EMBL and BIOCEV, the Biotechnology and Biomedicine Centre of the Academy of Sciences and Charles University in Vestec, signed their third Memorandum of Understanding on 5 November 2025. Several areas of collaboration will be enhanced in the MoU including joint research and service collaboration; scientific exchange and outreach; joint scientific meetings, conferences, and training courses; researcher mobility and training with a particular focus on early-career scientists; joint applications to European framework programmes and other international research funding.
BIOCEV is a consortium of six Czech research institutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences (CAS) and two faculties of Charles University (Faculty of Science, Charles University and First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University) based in Vestec, near Prague, with groups working across structural biology, cell biology, biomedicine, and biotechnology.
2013: First Memorandum of Understanding signed for the duration of five years. 2019: Renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding. 2025: Second renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding between BIOCEV and EMBL.
