Our inspiring educational experiences share the scientific discoveries of EMBL with young learners aged 10-19 years and teachers in Europe and beyond. We belong to EMBL’s Science Education and Public Engagement office.

2022 STEM Discovery Campaign

We at ELLS are happy to announce that we will be part of the 2022 STEM Discovery Campaign run by Scientix!

Established in 2010, Scientix is a network for science educators in Europe. This Brussels-based European Commission initiative acts as a mediator between science teachers and other stakeholders by gathering and disseminating best practises in science education throughout Europe. This is done through workshops, conferences, an extensive resource repository, and much more. The goal of the Scientix community is to foster collaboration among European STEM teachers, education researchers, policymakers as well as other collaborators to inspire students to choose to pursue STEM based careers.

This year, Scientix is running the 2022 STEM Discovery Campaign. This initiative running from 1 February to 30 April invites and encourages educational stakeholders all over Europe to run events and activities in the spirit of the campaign’s theme: STEM for all. STEM for all, to Scientix and to us at ELLS, encapsulates our strong belief that science should be made accessible to everyone.

As the science education department of EMBL, we too shall be putting our events on the map in an effort to raise awareness among students about the importance of STEM, to contribute to the mission of making science more accessible to everyone, and to realise our goal of bridging the gap between schools and cutting edge life science research. To stay updated on ELLS activities during the campaign, follow our social media channels and subscribe to our newsletter.

Join the 2022 STEM Discovery Campaign

Join the 2022 STEM Discovery Campaign, a joint international initiative organised by Scientix that invites projects, organisations, libraries, schools, universities and youth clubs across Europe and around the world to celebrate careers and studies in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

The theme for the 2022 STEM Discovery Campaign is STEM for all. STEM is present in virtually all aspects of our lives. That is why we believe everyone should have access to STEM education emphasizing the value of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. This year, we encourage every educational stakeholder to organize events and activities that raise student awareness and make STEM accessible to everyone, showcasing key skills that students and our societies will need in the near future.

We invite everyone to get involved in the 2022 STEM Discovery Campaign by organising STEM activities and featuring them on the STEM Discovery Campaign map, becoming partners and participating in our competitions as well as other online events!
