Structural Biology services

EMBL Hamburg

EMBL Hamburg provides research services including access to its beamlines for macromolecular crystallography (MX) and small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) at the PETRA III synchrotron, and the Sample Preparation and Characterisation Facility.

EMBL Hamburg provides a number of research services to in-house and external users as well as having access to the services provided by other units of EMBL.

External user services

Sample Preparation and Characterisation (SPC) Facility

In collaboration with CSSB, we provide access to cutting-edge technology, and offer expertise to check and improve samples submitted for X-ray structural biology experiments and other purposes.

Beamline for biological small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS)

We offer access to the beamline P12, tailored for biological small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), as well as the support and expertise of our scientists.

Beamlines for macromolecular crystallography (MX)

Users can access our beamline P13, the longest usable wavelength for crystallography world-wide, and P14, designed for micro-focused beam for crystallography.

Computational facilities and software

Our computational services include facilities for remote computing on the EMBL Hamburg computer cluster and software packages developed at EMBL Hamburg for downloading.

Industry services

We welcome industry projects from diverse backgrounds. We offer services on, experimental design, consulting  and data analysis.
