Aziz Mithani

Aziz joined EMBL-EBI in June 2022 to lead the Training team’s core programme. Before joining EMBL-EBI, Aziz worked as a tenured Associate Professor at Lahore University of Management Sciences, Pakistan where he led his own research group in the area of computational genomics and systems biology. During this time, he was actively involved in teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels and held various administrative roles including the Head of Biology and the convenor for graduate programme in biology for the University.

Aziz has a DPhil in Statistics (Computational Biology) from the University of Oxford, MPhil in Computational Biology from the University of Cambridge, and MS and BCS in Computer Sciences from FAST-NU, Pakistan. He did his postdoctoral research in the Department of Plant Sciences at the University of Oxford in the area of computational genomics.
