{"id":76945,"date":"2025-10-28T14:21:43","date_gmt":"2025-10-28T13:21:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.embl.org\/news\/?p=76945"},"modified":"2025-10-28T14:21:46","modified_gmt":"2025-10-28T13:21:46","slug":"connecting-deeper-reaching-further","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.embl.org\/news\/connections\/connecting-deeper-reaching-further\/","title":{"rendered":"Connecting deeper, reaching further"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On 14\u201315 October, EMBL\u2019s Polish partners \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/nencki.edu.pl\/\">Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology PAS<\/a> and BRAINCITY \u2014 together with <a href=\"https:\/\/dandrite.au.dk\/\">DANDRITE<\/a>, the Danish node of the Nordic EMBL Partnership for Molecular Medicine, came together for a joint event hosted by the Nencki Institute. The two-day programme featured the official inaugurations of two major initiatives, BRAINCITY MAB FENG and <a href=\"https:\/\/emerald.nencki.edu.pl\/about.html\">EMERALD<\/a>, &nbsp;followed by the joint <a href=\"https:\/\/nencki.edu.pl\/joint-braincity-emerald-opening-nencki-braincity-dandrite-symposium-2\/\">NENCKI\u2013BRAINCITY\u2013DANDRITE Symposium<\/a>. The event reinforced collaboration between EMBL partners in Poland and Denmark, further strengthening EMBL\u2019s connection with Poland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event started with the launch of BRAINCITY MAB FENG and EMERALD. Both projects represent important directions in strengthening Polish research. The kick-off featured talks by representatives from the involved institutions, including the Head of EMBL Rome, Cornelius Gross, who spoke about EMBL collaboration opportunities for the Polish scientific community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BRAINCITY MAB FENG is a continuation of the earlier BRAINCITY project, which has now secured a second round of funding. The centre\u2019s cutting-edge science, strong leadership, and capacity to deliver impactful research contribute to the strategic value of BRAINCITY\u2019s partnership with EMBL, focused on advancing scientific excellence and innovation in Poland and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The EMERALD project will be carried out with generous support from the Minister of Science and Higher Education of Poland. This initiative will support collaborations between EMBL and EMBO and the wider Polish scientific community by providing funds for researchers to carry out scientific visits, and for organising joint workshops and symposia in Poland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The joint NENCKI\u2013BRAINCITY\u2013DANDRITE Symposium comprised lecture sessions and thematic discussions with participants from the Nencki Institute, EMBL, DANDRITE, and BRAINCITY. The symposium provided an inspiring platform for the exchange of experiences and the establishment of new research collaborations, marking an important step toward strengthening international scientific networks between the participating organisations. The event also provided a unique opportunity to showcase effective cross-sector cooperation between scientific and administrative teams at international institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EMBL is committed to building bridges and networks between its institutional collaborators, which is part of its mission to integrate life sciences in Europe. Bringing together complementary expertise is what drives impactful science forward \u2013 and this symposium is a great step in that direction. The partnerships with BRAINCITY and DANDRITE are excellent examples of how the EMBL Partnership network can strengthen local scientific ecosystems and facilitate connections across different institutes, while advancing European research as a whole.
