{"id":7360,"date":"2016-08-04T14:51:04","date_gmt":"2016-08-04T12:51:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/news.embl.de\/?p=7360"},"modified":"2020-03-26T13:32:08","modified_gmt":"2020-03-26T12:32:08","slug":"1608-ebi-visit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.embl.org\/news\/lab-matters\/1608-ebi-visit\/","title":{"rendered":"Just try!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Hosted by Hannah Meyer, a student in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.embl.de\/training\/eipp\/application\/\">EMBL International PhD Programme<\/a>, the 18-year-olds were treated to a tour of the campus and its facilities \u2013 sequencing centre, data centre, training suite, conference centre \u2013 by the Wellcome Genome Campus Public Engagement team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But first, Hannah presented her bioinformatics research, talking about how she uses computer science to understand the workings of the human heart, and fielding questions about what life is like for students in Cambridge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"vf-blockquote\"><p>We got a real sense of the institute\u2019s supportive spirit as we walked around.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We got a real sense of the institute\u2019s supportive spirit as we walked around.
