Focusing on raising awareness, enhancing links, and expanding collaborative networks in Montenegro, EMBL participated in the <a href=\"https:\/\/daninaukeiinovacija.me\/\">Days of Science and Innovation Festival in Podgorica<\/a> on 27 September 2023. The event was organised by the Ministry of Science and Technological Development, and EMBL used the opportunity to promote an interactive exchange aimed at stirring curiosity and informing the scientific community in Montenegro about EMBL\u2019s vision, research, and training opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event in Podgorica prioritised awareness raising, particularly about EMBL research and training opportunities for young students and the teacher community. Attendees were able to learn about EMBL\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.embl.org\/about\/programme\/\">2022-26 Programme<\/a> and its current objective to enhance our understanding of ecosystems, offering vital insights into some of society\u2019s biggest challenges, such as pollution and loss of biodiversity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over a hundred students and teachers enjoyed the unique opportunity to experience a virtual guided tour of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.embl.org\/about\/world-of-molecular-biology\/\">World of Molecular Biology (WMB) exhibition<\/a>&nbsp; and peek inside the heart of EMBL, where powerful microscopes capture the most fragile processes within our bodies. The experience brought molecular biology, from cells to ecosystems, to the fingertips of the audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Inspired by the exhibition, the audience also had the opportunity to unleash their curiosity and engage with EMBL scientists present both on site and virtually. During the interactive Q&amp;A session called<em> \u2018Ask the Scientist!\u2019<\/em>, the participants asked many questions about life at EMBL, the discoveries enabled by the scientists, career prospects, and the potential to make a lasting impact on our societies through science.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Touching on the essence of the event, Montenegro\u2019s Minister of Science and Technological Development, Biljana \u0160\u0107epanovi\u0107, said: \u201cMolecular biology isn\u2019t just about genes and cells, it is about unravelling the mysteries of life itself, understanding the code that underlies existence, finding solutions to some of the most pressing challenges facing our world today, from curing diseases to addressing environmental concerns.\u201d&nbsp; Minister \u0160\u0107epanovi\u0107 encouraged the audience to \u201cexplore EMBL, engage, and embrace the wonders of the microscopic world, aspiring to be the researchers, innovators, and scientists who will shape a brighter future for all.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"vf-figure wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1600\" height=\"1067\" class=\"vf-figure__image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.embl.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/3-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"A group of people in a seminar hall listening to a panel discussion\" class=\"wp-image-63887\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.embl.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/3-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.embl.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/3-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.embl.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/3-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.embl.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/3.jpg 1600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px\" \/><figcaption class=\"vf-figure__caption\">Minister \u0160\u0107epanovi\u0107 and EMBL speakers introducing EMBL and the Virtual Tour of the World of Molecular Biology exhibition. We are actively engaged with the Montenegrin research and academic community and I hope that students and scientists will be even more motivated now to reach out and apply for the opportunities that are available at EMBL.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event is part of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.embl.org\/news\/lab-matters\/embl-and-montenegro-boosting-cooperation-and-enhancing-awareness\/\">series of actions<\/a> that foster continuous collaboration to amplify EMBL\u2013Montenegro cooperation channels and define a joint approach to a more intensive promotion and visibility of EMBL in
