Now, as part of its efforts to encourage the next generation of researchers, EMBL is enabling young scientists to expand their network and explore cutting-edge research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.embl.org\/about\/info\/undergraduates\/eipods-inspire\/\">EIPODs Inspire<\/a> is a new mentoring scheme, and an innovative addition to EMBL\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.embl.org\/about\/info\/postdoctoral-programme\/eipod4-fellowship-programme\/\">EIPOD4 programme<\/a>. EIPODs Inspire will pair-up postdoctoral researchers with Master\u2019s students, providing an opportunity for gaining insight into the world of life science research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As well as building on EMBL\u2019s mission to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.embl.org\/training\/\">provide training opportunities<\/a>, EIPODs Inspire enhances the organisation\u2019s long-standing commitment to integrating European science.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Master\u2019s students studying in EMBL member states eligible for EU Widening Actions under Horizon 2020 are welcome to apply, and further criteria can be found on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.embl.org\/about\/info\/undergraduates\/eipods-inspire\/#criteria\">the EMBL website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The students selected to join the programme will be invited to attend the EMBL PhD Symposium and will participate in a mentoring workshop with their EIPOD4 mentors in order to decide on how to make the most of their respective partnership. The mentor and mentee will interact over a period of 18 months, which will provide plenty of opportunities for the students to gain a deep understanding of all that careers in life science research have to offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anne Ephrussi, Director of EMBL\u2019s International Centre for Advanced Training, explained that \u201cthis is a great example of the opportunities that EMBL provides for early-career scientists. If you know of enthusiastic and curious Master\u2019s students who may be interested in pursuing an interdisciplinary career in the life sciences, then I thoroughly recommend you make them aware of
