{"id":13494,"date":"2018-10-22T16:36:13","date_gmt":"2018-10-22T14:36:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.embl.de\/?p=13494"},"modified":"2024-03-22T11:11:53","modified_gmt":"2024-03-22T10:11:53","slug":"arp-warp-8-0-released","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.embl.org\/news\/lab-matters\/arp-warp-8-0-released\/","title":{"rendered":"ARP\/wARP 8.0 released"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Researchers in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.embl-hamburg.de\/research\/unit\/lamzin\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lamzin group<\/a> at EMBL Hamburg have released the next generation of their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.embl-hamburg.de\/ARP\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ARP\/wARP software<\/a>. ARP\/wARP is used by structural biologists, enabling them to automatically build models of proteins and their complexes, including nucleic acids and small molecule ligands, based on crystallography data collected using synchrotron beamlines. This latest version is also able to interpret cryo-EM density maps at a resolution of 3.5 \u00c5 and to construct some partial models even at 4.5 \u00c5 resolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The traditional download and local installation of ARP\/wARP is now complemented with a new, user-friendly web interface that includes the world\u2019s first online tool for <em>de novo<\/em> cryo-EM model building. The new web service will provide all functionalities of the software to remote users to help them interpret their experiments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By automatically translating crystallographic data into structures, ARP\/wARP has cut down the time necessary to create structural models from months to hours. That is why more than 5,000 scientists worldwide use ARP\/wARP every year.
