In the accompanying note, he states: \u201cI am pleased to offer this copy of my Nobel medal to EMBL in testimony of my great thankfulness to an institution that, in my view, would deserve to be the laureate of the Prize.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jacques Dubochet was <a href=\"https:\/\/news.embl.de\/science\/jacques-dubochet-awarded-nobel-prize-for-chemistry\/\">awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2017<\/a>, for his work at EMBL in the 1980s using water vitrification to prepare biological samples for electron microscopy;
