The accession of the Slovak Republic to EMBL emphasises the organisation\u2019s commitment to promoting European science and collaboration among researchers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a member state, Slovakia will receive access to all EMBL\u2019s services and facilities. Its new status will also allow Slovakia to vote in EMBL\u2019s Council, the laboratory\u2019s governing body, where important decisions about the organisation are made. Up to two Slovakian delegates will join the Council contributing to shape EMBL\u2019s future programmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since 2014, when Slovakia became an EMBL prospect member state, the ties between the two parties have become stronger: EMBL and Slovakia have applied for joint grants, contributed to joint publications. To stimulate collaboration with the Slovak research community, EMBL held a Workshop at <a href=\"https:\/\/cusp.uniba.sk\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Comenius University Science Park (UCSP)<\/a> in Bratislava, Slovakia, in 2017.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>EMBL welcomes Slovakia as its 24th member
