We are searching for a highly motivated research technician who would have a central role in setting up the research group and make original scientific contributions to research projects of the lab.

Your role

  • General lab management tasks: organization, ordering, preparation of reagents
  • Scientific support with individual experiments: standard molecular biology (e.g. cloning and genotyping); embryology techniques (e.g. in situ hybridization, microinjections and imaging); the candidate will be trained in lab specific techniques (e.g. biophysical assays, image analysis)
  • Generation of transgenic / mutant fish lines and conduct fish husbandry duties with the aquatic core facility
  • Support training new lab members

You have

  • Undergraduate or advanced degree from accredited university or technical school
  • Expertise in molecular/cellular biology
  • Highly motivated with proactive personality and solution-oriented approach
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficient in spoken and written English

You might also have

  • Working experience with animals (preferable zebrafish, Xenopus) of advantage but not mandatory
  • Working experience with live imaging (confocal, light-sheet) and/or data analysis (Fiji, Imaris, MATLAB) is of advantage
