Using your community-building and networking skills you will manage the needs from our many stakeholders and drive collaborations across Europe and globally.

The ELIXIR CTO operates in a matrix-managed, project-driven organisation. This requires you to lead, and be led, within multiple, outcome-driven temporary operational teams in addition to the formal line organisation. The ELIXIR CTO is a busy role with frequently changing priorities and extensive external contacts, so it is important that you are able to function comfortably in a team environment and can relate well to co-workers and the public. We work across multiple time zones with European and global partners. You will need to occasionally work irregular/extra hours including evenings, and exceptionally, weekends. The ELIXIR CTO needs to travel in Europe and internationally as necessary.

  • People management experience with demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams to deliver against agreed outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to predict and project technical developments and needs

  • Ability to professionally represent ELIXIR at public events, conferences and scientific meetings with attention to personal conduct and professional appearance.
  • Ability to work within a team
