Operational Settings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

1. User registration<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

All users need to be registered in the GeneCore database under a specific principal group. This group is assigned by GeneCore only upon request (please contact us<\/a>). We require the following personal and professional details: name, business address, incl. phone number and email address; This information is used to create a principal user group and user accounts in the GeneCore registration system and is then stored for the duration of the interaction with GeneCore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Sample submission<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

All samples must be registered in the GeneCore sample submission<\/a> system before being shipped to GeneCore. If you send an unregistered sample, it will not be processed and will be stored until the service has been completed. <\/strong>You are expected to provide us with all relevant information relating to the samples, together with full details of any known hazards relating to them. For shipment to EMBL, please note the following additional instructions: samples must be clearly labeled and packed in a bag or in a sample box (no loose tubes please).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Processing policy<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Samples are primarily processed in sequential order (first come first served). GeneCore staff may, if necessary and in rare circumstances, change the order in wich samples are processed (for instance, to fully use available sequencing capacity), or even reject sample processing completely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Data delivery<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Sequencing results are delivered to the user electronically in FASTQ format (and optionally alignments in BAM format) via IBM Aspera technology (fasp2 transfer protocol).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Data storage<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Data are available for download for a maximum of 4 weeks. Afterwards, the data is deleted at GeneCore.  Data is archived for 10 years but users are fully responsible for proper management and long-term storage of their data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Bioinformatics support<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

GeneCore Bioinformatics staff is primarily responsible for the sequencing data production and quality control. Further Bioinformatics data analysis consulting and support is only available upon request and should ideally be requested prior to sample submission.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

You need to provide the Principal Investigator (PI) name, PI institutional address, PI phone number, PI email address, Billing address and VAT (for external users only) .<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

You need to provide your full name, phone number, email address, and the name of the group(s).<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

YES<\/strong>, all samples must be registered in the sample registration system before shipment (Available in the Sample Instructions<\/a> section). If you send an unregistered sample it will not be processed and will be stored until the registration process ends.

Samples must be clearly labeled and packed securely in a sample box (no loose tubes) If you are sending 24 samples or more, please ship them in a plate (please take a look at the DNA & RNA Guidelines available in the Sample instructions<\/a>.)<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

\n\nIs GeneCore responsible for pre-prepared libraries?<\/summary>\n
\n\n

NO<\/strong>, GeneCore is not responsible for issues related to externally prepared libraries. GeneCore will always verify the library concentration but, no further library modification will be performed.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

\n\nHow will I receive my sequencing data?<\/summary>\n
\n\n

Data is delivered electronically in FASTQ format (and optionally in BAM format) via secure transfer. Raw data from the sequencer can also be provided upon request.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

\n\nWhat happens to my samples after sequencing?<\/summary>\n
\n\n

Samples are disposed of after six months unless otherwise requested.
