EMBL Heidelberg Director’s Office

The EMBL Heidelberg Director’s Office provides managerial and operational support to the Director of EMBL Heidelberg and together with the Head of Operations & Administration at EMBL Heidelberg forms the site coordination team.

In particular the EMBL Heidelberg Director’s Office and the site coordination team:

are involved in coordinating activities from science to operations and administration at EMBL Heidelberg.
serves as a focal point for communication and interaction with site stakeholders.
contributes to the general scientific, operational and administrative needs of EMBL.
coordinates activities and interactions with external local and national stakeholders.

Director of EMBL Heidelberg

The Director of EMBL Heidelberg primarily oversees and coordinates the different scientific activities on the site. As EMBL Heidelberg is not only the organisation’s main scientific laboratory, but also serves as its headquarters, he also tightly interacts with the Director General and the Chief Operating Officer. The director of EMBL Heidelberg is supported by the office of scientific operations (OSO).
