Genome editing holds the transformative power to revolutionise medical treatments, agricultural practices, and our understanding of genetics. The self-paced<\/strong> course \u201cThe CRISPR revolution: a course for educators and CRISPR enthusiasts<\/strong>\u201c, organised by EMBL\u2019s Science Education and Public Engagement team in partnership with Merck, aims to give an overview and deep dive into the field of genome editing and CRISPR research and help educators teach the topic in class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The free<\/strong> course will run online from 1 May to 9 June 2024, allowing educators and anyone interested in learning more about genome editing to join at any time <\/strong>and explore the course content at their own pace. At the end of the course, you can obtain a certificate<\/strong> of attendance by completing a short feedback questionnaire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please note: <\/strong>This course includes content from previous EMBL virtual LearningLAB 2021 entitled \u201cThe GRISPR revolution\u201d. In addition to previous content, pre-recorded Zoom scientific discussions and new learning and teaching resources have been added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This course is aimed at formal and informal educators, as well as teacher trainers and teachers in training.<\/p>\n\n\n\nIt will also be useful for science professionals and anyone interested in learning more about genome editing and CRISPR in particular.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n
Learning format<\/h2>\n
All the course content is accessible online between 1 May and 9 June 2024. The course content is divided into three sections, depending on your level of understanding and interest:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Teach CRISPR in class<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
The course workload is based on the time needed for covering some \u201crecommended<\/strong>\u201d content in the form of pre-recorded talks and pedagogical materials that might be of interest to you. However, the time you spend on the course may vary based on your interests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
