This is a unique opportunity for everyone to engage with science in a fun way, gain insights into research institutions, and connect with researchers and their work.

This year EMBL in cooperation with Merck will be one of the institutions hosting the ERN on 25 September 2026 from 3 to 10 pm on its campus in Heidelberg, Germany. Join us for this Festival of Science and Curiosity and experience European research in Heidelberg first-hand!

You can look forward to a variety of fun and engaging activities, which are free for everyone to take part in and will partly be offered in multiple languages. Explore EMBL science by talking to researchers, listening to their talks or peek behind the curtains of a research institute by joining a tour through some of the facilities on the campus in Heidelberg.

There will be various hands-on activities and opportunities to look at science through a different lens, like through artistic exhibits and theatre performances.

You can also put your scientific and experimental skills to the test in the Curiosity CubeTM, a mobile science lab of our partner Merck.

We will be joined by other institutes from Heidelberg and Mannheim as well. Stay tuned for exciting offers of the TECHNOSEUM, Planetarium Mannheim and many more!

No matter your background, age or prior contact with science. This event is free for everyone!

Join us and let your curiosity come alive!

We look forward to seeing you there!

        Find out more!

Von Lina Mahl Jedes Jahr öffnen Forschungsinstitute in ganz Europa ihre Türen und laden die Öffentlichkeit dazu ein, ihre Forschung kennenzulernen.
