This is a free training opportunity aimed at secondary-school and informal STEM teachers, as well as teacher-trainers across Europe. The course is scheduled to take place on 2–4 March 2026 at EMBL’s Heidelberg campus.

The 2.5-day in-person programme gives participants a deep dive into the science of epigenetics: how chemical modifications regulate gene expression without altering the DNA sequence, the role the environment plays, and why epigenetics matters for development, health, and disease. Through expert talks, discussions, and interactive sessions, educators will become familiar with the latest research and will receive ready-to-use teaching materials.

At the end of the course, participants will be certified as EMBL Teacher Ambassadors, granting them access to the EMBLconnect scheme.
