ELLSconnect<\/sub> LearningLAB at NCSR “Demokritos”, Athens<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Taking place 11\u201313 September 2020<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Institute of Biosciences and Applications (IBE) of NCSR “Demokritos”, in collaboration with the European Learning Laboratory for the Life Sciences (ELLS) of the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), organises a laboratory workshop for secondary school teachers. The event will take place from Friday, 11 September to Sunday, 13 September 2020 at the facilities of IBE \/ NCSR “Demokritos” in Athens, Greece.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Researchers from IBE and EMBL will provide theoretical and practical training in well-established and more advanced laboratory techniques in biochemistry and molecular biology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aim of the workshop is to support the continuing education of secondary school biology teachers. Techniques addressed in the course will include real-time PCR, DNA and protein electrophoresis, and systemic microscopy. Lectures by EMBL researchers and alumni will cover cutting-edge molecular biology techniques and biomedical topics. The workshop will also cover identifying reliable scientific information in biomedical online databases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participation is free of charge and participants will receive a certificate of attendance. The language of the event is Greek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
