How to control and delete cookies

EMBL will not use cookies to collect personally identifiable information about you. However, if you wish to restrict or block the cookies which are set by EMBL websites, or indeed any other website, you can do this through your browser settings. EMBL uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. Google Analytics sets a cookie in order to evaluate your use of the EMBL website and to compile reports for us on activity over all of EMBL’s web pages. For visitors that do not want their visit data used by Google Analytics, Google developed the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Browsers that have this add-on installed communicate with the Google Analytics JavaScript to indicate that information about the website visit should not be sent to Google Analytics. Cookie ID: Sharing tools

EMBL websites carry embedded 'share' buttons to enable users of the site to easily share information with their friends through a number of popular social networks. These sites may set a cookie when you are also logged in to their service. EMBL does not control the dissemination of these cookies and you should check the relevant third party website for more information about these.

On the EMBL websites we sometimes embed photos and video content from websites such as YouTube.
