Release 2014_09 is out now! 84 million entries and evidence tags http://www.uniprot.org/help/evidences making the source of the annotation more traceable. This release includes headline article 'Small is beautiful (and useful) detailing how Human, mouse and zebrafish Apela orthologs have been updated with new information about the small protein Apela.
The evidence for annotations in UniProtKB entries has been available for several years in the XML and RDF representation of the data and we have now added this information also to the text format (aka flat file format).
New diseases and keywords added. Diseases have been modified and also deleted. See details at http://www.uniprot.org/help/2014/10/01/release.
