InterPro 56.0 integrates 281 new methods from the SUPERFAMILY (1), PROSITE profiles (24) and PANTHER (256) databases.
InterPro now covers 79.9% of UniProt Knowledgebase release 2016_02. It predicts Gene Ontology (GO) terms for over 36 million UniProt proteins via the InterPro2GO pipeline.
The new release includes an update to UniParc (uniparc_match.tar.gz) matches to InterPro methods. You can find this on our ftp site: ftp://ftp.ebi.ac.uk/pub/databases/interpro

InterProScan 5.17-56.0 uses data from the newly released InterPro 56.0, which contains 28,926 entries and includes updates to PROSITE patterns (20.119) and PROSITE profiles (20.119). You can find the full release notes here.
