With the opportunity of the official reopening of the Szil\u00e1rd Library and its inauguration on December 8-16, we organized a special book flea market offering many deaccessioned or donated books.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to the generous donations and support from the \u0395\u039c\u0392L staff, we are delighted to announce that we were able to raise a significant amount of 1119.38 Euros which were donated to the Kinder- und Jugendb\u00fccherei at Heidelberg University Hospital Center for Child and Adolescent Medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their library relies completely on donations to operate, and its collection of books has been built up through these contributions. Additionally, all members of the library team are volunteers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EMBL\u2019s donation enabled them to grow their child book collection further by purchasing 99 new books from a small local bookstore in Heidelberg. That has brought great joy to the young patients of the hospital!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Kinder- und Jugendb\u00fccherei librarians <\/a>expressed their deep gratitude for the donation by inviting us to visit their small, but well-organized library. We were excited to be given a tour of the library and be presented with their new book titles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are very proud that EMBL\u2019s contribution could make a positive impact on the Heidelberg University Hospital Center for Child and Adolescent Medicine community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
