Hector Foundation played a pivotal role in bringing the EMBL <a href=\"https:\/\/www.embl.org\/about\/info\/imaging-centre\/\">Imaging Centre<\/a>\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.embl.org\/about\/world-of-molecular-biology\/\">World of Molecular Biology<\/a> exhibition to life. Their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.embl.org\/news\/connections\/12-moments-of-philanthropy-11-embls-world-of-molecular-biology\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.embl.org\/news\/connections\/12-moments-of-philanthropy-11-embls-world-of-molecular-biology\/\">generous core funding<\/a> supported numerous exhibition elements, while their early commitment inspired further private and public support. The exhibition provides an engaging space where visitors of all ages can explore the wonders of molecular and cellular life through cutting-edge technologies like virtual reality and interactive gaming, enhancing scientific education for all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, from 2025, a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.embl.org\/news\/connections\/ai-in-the-life-sciences-philanthropy-fuels-embls-strategy\/\">new visionary long-term donation<\/a>&nbsp;will enable the creation of dedicated AI research groups, data engineering teams, and state-of-the-art infrastructure, along with fellowship and skills development programmes that bridge AI and the life sciences. These initiatives aim to attract top talent, foster collaboration across academia and industry, and embed AI firmly in the delivery of research infrastructures at EMBL.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details  class=\"vf-details\" id=\"\"  >\n<summary class=\"vf-details--summary\">\nKlaus Tschira Foundation<\/summary>\n<div class=\"acf-innerblocks-container\">\n\n<figure class=\"vf-figure wp-block-image  | vf-figure--align vf-figure--align-inline-end  size-medium\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"150\" class=\"vf-figure__image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.embl.org\/about\/info\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/kts-logo-300x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2520\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.embl.org\/about\/info\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/kts-logo-300x150.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.embl.org\/about\/info\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/kts-logo-768x384.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.embl.org\/about\/info\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/kts-logo.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The EMBL&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.embl.org\/about\/info\/course-and-conference-office\/embl-advanced-training-centre-atc\/\">Advanced Training Centre<\/a> would not have been initiated without Klaus Tschira\u2019s vision for a \u2018double helix building\u2019 and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.embl.org\/news\/lab-matters\/12-moments-of-philanthropy-1-klaus-tschira-and-the-atc\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.embl.org\/news\/lab-matters\/12-moments-of-philanthropy-1-klaus-tschira-and-the-atc\/\">substantial donation<\/a> from the Klaus Tschira Foundation. This represents an unparalleled contribution to the advanced training of molecular life scientists in Europe and was realised with additional support from the German Federal Ministry of Science and Education (BMBF) and the state of Baden W\u00fcrttemberg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, from 2025,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.embl.org\/news\/connections\/embl-expands-research-expeditions-to-freshwater-ecosystems-thanks-to-philanthropy\/\">new philanthropic support from the Klaus Tschira Foundation<\/a>&nbsp;is helping to advance pioneering research into freshwater ecosystems, bringing science back to the field to study Europe\u2019s ecological communities and how they are affected by human activities.
