<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Purified proteins are useful biological tools that are used for many purposes, such as obtaining molecular-level insights into functional mechanisms, studying interactions and generating antibodies\/nanobodies. In contrast to proteins from model organisms, robust methods for the production of proteins from non-classical organisms are lacking, thereby hindering proper molecular-level investigations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By testing both established and less standardly used expression systems, we aim to figure out the relationships between the environmental origins of the non-classical organisms, the molecular and functional characteristics of the proteins of interest and the most optimal host expression organisms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
