Observed annually on November 18th, International Day of LGBTQ+ People in STEM is a celebration and recognition of the contributions, challenges, and aspirations of individuals within the LGBTQ+ community who are making strides in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Stemming from a need to promote inclusivity and diversity in these fields, this day aims to raise awareness about the challenges faced by LGBTQ+ professionals and students and to foster an environment where everyone, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, can thrive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To celebrate this day, EMBL annually puts up the rainbow flag on Heidelberg campus. This year, it is up all week from November 13th to November 17th. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Additionally, EDI Office and EMBL LGBTQ+ team will host a rainbow beer hour on Friday, November 17th, starting from 16:30 at the Staff lounge in Heidelberg.
