Please see EMBL\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.embl.org\/about\/info\/course-and-conference-office\/?page_id=15120\">COVID-19 safety policy<\/a>&nbsp;for on-site events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Course overview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>ATAC-Seq stands for Assay of Transposase Accessible Chromatin and is a widespread method to profile open chromatin on a genome-scale. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The goal of this introductory course is to teach the entire workflow of a single-cell and bulk ATAC-Seq experiment including library preparation, sequencing, data processing, and downstream analysis by addressing a real biological question that will be answered at the end of the course. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We will start with the experimental single-cell and bulk ATAC-Seq protocol, highlighting the critical steps, potential pitfalls, and the most up-to-date tweaks to improve the quality of the results. After sequencing the samples we will go through the basic quality control and preprocessing steps using multiple analysis tools for next-generation sequencing data. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, we will perform different types of analysis on the processed data, including visualisation, comparison of bulk and single-cell data, differential peak calling, and differential transcription factor activity profiling to come to a biological conclusion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, we will discuss recent advancements in technology development and algorithms for analysis and give an outlook on future perspectives and applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Audience<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This course is aimed at molecular biologists who want to perform ATAC-Seq experiments and\/or analysis in their lab. In your application, you will be asked to answer questions regarding why your lab cannot fund your attendance and how your attendance will make a difference to your career.
