Translation changes are often the first response when cells encounter environmental or physiological stress, and shifts in ribosome occupancy across transcripts, elongation speed, or initiation site can rapidly remodel the proteome before transcriptional reprogramming. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Capturing these rapid, codon\u2011level changes is essential to define how cells sense<br>damage, activate the integrated and ribotoxic stress responses, and prioritize synthesis of protective factors. Ribosome profiling approaches are currently the only methodologies that can measure transcriptome\u2011wide translation dynamics in vivo, at codon resolution. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Audience<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The course is aimed at PhD students and early post-doctoral researchers who are entering the field of posttranscriptional regulation of gene expression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Learning outcomes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants will learn a robust ribosome profiling protocol and how to adapt it to<br>diverse experimental systems, including applications that detect ribosome collisions as reporters of a ribotoxic stress response.
