Traditionally, vascular biologists have relied on animal models to investigate key processes such as vascular signalling, angiogenesis, and remodelling. These models remain foundational, however, they do not always fully capture human-specific vascular behaviour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In recent years, advances in multicellular systems, gene editing, stem cell technologies, and bioengineering have created new opportunities to study vascular biology <em>in vitro<\/em> using human cells.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This upcoming edition of the meeting aims to unite researchers working at the intersection of engineering and vascular biology, facilitating discussions on how to apply cutting-edge techniques in spatial omics, advanced imaging, and the use of AI in Recipients will be notified of their travel cap amount when they are informed of the outcome of their application. Receipts (and boarding passes for air travel) must be provided via email with your signature for all costs incurred within two months of completion of travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Childcare grant<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>There is the possibility to apply for a childcare grant to offset child care costs incurred by participants, speakers, and organisers when attending a conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eligible costs include (but are not limited to) fees for a baby-sitter or child-care facility, and travel costs for a caregiver. Please note that priority will be given to early stage researchers. You may apply for a childcare grant at the same time when submitting your abstract. There is a limited amount of funding available for the childcare grants and funds will be distributed amongst eligible applicants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">EMBO Accessibility Grant<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For EMBO Workshop participants with accessibility needs, there is the possibility to apply for an accessibility grant to offset costs incurred by participants or speakers when participating at a conference. Eligible costs include costs incurred for equipment or adaptations to the conference environment, or travel costs for an event companion to assist the participant or speaker during the conference where necessary, etc. While we do our best to accommodate needs, please note that extensive changes to the conference environment might not be possible. Please note that priority will be given to early-stage researchers. A maximum amount of \u20ac500 can be awarded per participant applying for an EMBO accessibility grant. In order to apply for this grant for EMBO Workshops, you must be registered by the abstract submission deadline.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Application<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You may apply for financial assistance when submitting your abstract. In your application you will be asked to answer questions regarding why your lab cannot fund your attendance and how your attendance will make a difference to your career. Application for financial support will not affect the outcome of your registration application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Selection<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The scientific organisers will select the recipients of registration fee waivers and travel grants during the motivation letter or abstract selection process. Results will be announced approximately 6 \u2013 8 weeks before the event start date, however for some events this may be delayed. Selection results do not impact your admission to the meeting. It has two passenger terminals: Terminal 1 (T1) and Terminal 2 (T2). The airport has allocated airlines to terminals, regardless of the destination of the flight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Airport Transfers to the city centre<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/aerobusbarcelona.es\/?lang=en\">Aerob\u00fas<\/a>&nbsp;is an express bus service that connects the Barcelona-El Prat airport with the city centre (Pla\u00e7a Catalunya) in 35 minutes. You can take the Aerob\u00fas outside Terminal 1 (A1) and Terminal 2 (A2). This service runs every day of the year with departures between 5 and 15 minutes. From the city centre, you can take the metro or a bus to move around Barcelona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.renfe.com\/es\/en\/suburban\/suburban-barcelona\">train service<\/a>&nbsp;(R2 line) runs approximately every 30 minutes to and from Barcelona airport to the city centre. The journey takes 25 minutes. The train service operates from Terminal 2 (T2). To get from T2 to T1, use the shuttle bus service (<em>Bus transit T1-T2<\/em>). You will find a notice board with the timetable at each stop. They operate from about 5:00 clock to about 22:00 clock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Night bus (NitBus)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both the metro and the buses do not run all night. In Barcelona, there is a fairly dense network of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/irbarcelona.org\/getting-around-barcelona\/public-transportation\/nitbus-barcelona-night-bus\/\">night buses<\/a>&nbsp;to get you back to your hotel all night long. Except for the line N0 all lines stop at Pla\u00e7a Catalunya and can change there. The N0 line is a circular line that allows you to circle around the city center and change to the other NitBus.
